Ediciones ARQ is the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile School of Architecture publishing house. ARQ Magazine was our first outcome, released for the first time on November 15, 1980 printed and bound on Kraft paper. Since then it has been published regularly, reaching its current frequency of 3 issues a year in 1995. In 1998 Ediciones ARQ published its first book, initiating another line of production that is today grouped in 8 collections and more than 70 published titles dedicated to architecture and urbanism.Ediciones ARQ focuses its work around four lines of action:
First, to build bridges between the academic world and that of the professional practice: despite their differences in nature, Ediciones ARQ strives to stimulate continuities and relationships between the two.Second, to generate a record of a selection of current Latin American architectural production, as varied and open as possible.
Third, to support architectural education. Being an academic publishing house, Ediciones ARQ grasps the value of a careful, accessible and communicative bibliography for developing courses for architecture students.
Fourth, to establish and network of exchange and relationships that surpass the scope of a single architecture school, encompassing different point of view, cities and countries. Ediciones ARQ today operates on a continental scale, working with fundamentally Latin American content and a broadcast network of such that includes Europe and the United States.
